New Chapters Released | Toronto’s #BookTalk Is Back

Hosted in the lobby of Union Hotel (60 York St.), #BookTalk brings acclaimed Canadian authors into intimate conversation with notable interviewers for thoughtful discussions on their craft, storytelling, and the ideas behind their most recent works. Launched in 2025, #BookTalk has quickly become a celebration of the written word and a gathering place for meaningful dialogue around Canadian storytelling, in a relaxed and intimate setting.

This second season launches with its spring sessions, which include renowned Canadian novelist Jane Urquhart, who beautifully blends historical and contemporary themes in her storytelling, horror and thriller author Nick Cutter (aka Craig Davidson), and the acclaimed Vincent Lam, whose debut short story collection Bloodletting & Miraculous Cures won the 2006 Giller Prize.

All sessions begin at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Each ticket includes a pastry item to enjoy during the discussion, a glass of wine post-discussion, and a copy of the author’s latest book, with the opportunity to have it signed at the end of the night. Tickets are available for purchase on Eventbrite at $50 + taxes and fees.
